AC SELF STORE - HOW IT WORKS

We offer secure and flexible self storage units of a variety of sizes. Book the unit that is right for you, and store your items. You'll be able to access your stuff 7 days a week!


Entry and Exit


HOW DO I GET ENTRY TO THE FACILITY?

Access to AC Self Store is easy. On the morning of your move in date, you will receive an email with a unique code, this will allow you to access the front door, but if you are in any doubt we recommend moving in on a week day, where we can be reached on the phone for any queries. Please note that the Door is locked after operating hours and the building alarms are set remotely for your peace of mind.

HOW DO I GET ENTRY TO MY UNIT?

Your unit number will be sent to you by email on your 'Move in Day' and a plan of the facility is on the notice board inside the front door. You will need to purchase an 'AC Steel Padlock' from us, or provide your own to secure your space.

If purchasing one of our tried and tested steel padlocks, we'll personally hand-deliver it to your storage unit on the day of your arrival.

Opening hours


WHEN ARE YOU OPEN?

We're open accessible 361 days a year, 

Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 20:00
Saturday: 08:00 - 18:00
Sunday: 08:00 - 16:00

The facility will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Easter Sunday.

Our phone lines are open Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm


WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M IN MY UNIT AFTER CLOSING TIME?

You can exit your unit and the facility but you cannot re-enter until the next opening time. Please ensure you have exited the facility before closing time, or you'll trigger our alarm and will be charged an alarm fee.


WILL THERE BE ANY EMPLOYEES ON SITE WHEN I ARRIVE?

Unless you have previously arranged to meet a member of our team on site, usually there will not be an employee on site, after all, we provide a self-serve, self-storage solution.


Packing and Unloading my stuff 

IS THERE ANYONE ON SITE TO HELP ME UNLOAD OR LOAD MY STUFF?

While employees are sometimes on site, you should always plan to unload and pack your items yourself. We have a pallet truck inside of our facility, as well as an eletric roller shutter door that can be operated from inside. This can allow you to reverse your vehicle inside and unload from there, making the process that little bit more easier. 

We do kindly ask that the shutter door is fully closed after using it, or else the alarm will trip and you'll be handed the alarm fee.

ARE THERE ANY STEPS TO ENTER THE FACILITY?

The site entrance is at ground level with no steps, making us disability friendly!

HOW CLOSE CAN I PARK TO MY UNIT?

Depending on car park availability, you will be able to park directly outside the facility.

ARE THERE ANY DOLLYS OR TROLLEYS AT THE SITE TO AID WITH UNLOADING/PACKING?

There is a pallet truck on site, but this isn't always available and may not be suitable for your needs. Please plan to bring your own assistance if required.

I NEED BOXES AND PACKING MATERIALS. DO YOU SELL THEM?

We have a range of boxes and packing materials available to purchase. Please give us a call if you'd like to purchase any.

IS THERE ANY SHELVING IN MY UNIT?

No, the Units are completely empty, however we do have a range of shelving available at an extra cost, please contact us for details. (Dependent of Unit Size)

Booking my unit


CAN I BOOK ONLINE?

Yes you can. Simply follow the online instructions and you can complete your booking.

CAN I BOOK BY PHONE?

Yes, we're more than happy to get you booked in over the phone! Our team our on standby, ready to assist.

WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE THERE?

You can pay using any major debit or credit card, including American Express.

CAN I CANCEL BEFORE I MOVE IN EVEN THOUGH I’VE SENT YOU MY PAYMENT DETAILS?

Yes you can. To cancel your booking, either log in to your AC Self Store account online, or call us on 01524 938850. You will not be charged if you cancel before your move in date.

CAN I CHANGE MY PAYMENT CARD?

Yes you can. Log into your AC Self Store account, click on 'View Payment Details' and add a new card. Alternatively, give us a call and we'll be happy to sort this for you.


Moving out


I WANT TO MOVE OUT AND/OR CANCEL FUTURE PAYMENTS. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

The quickest way to move out is to log into your AC Self Store account online and cancel. If you require any assistance, call us on 01524 938850.

I WANT TO MOVE OUT IMMEDIATELY. CAN I GET A REFUND ON PAYMENTS MADE TO DATE?

You can move out at any time (subject to opening hours). However, payments are made monthly in advance and are non-refundable.
